Contributing to our local communities

We are committed to making a difference in our communities, through financial donations, non-monetary donations and volunteering activities.

As a responsible corporate citizen, and in the spirit of our Care value, Athora strives to play a positive role in society and the communities in which we operate. Athora’s business is about providing people with long-term security and thus, we have a strong responsibility towards all our stakeholders. Alongside our obligations towards our customers, employees, shareholders and business partners, we have a responsibility to use our skills, resources, and expertise to create a better society. As such, we aim to undertake charitable efforts to help prepare the wider community for the long-term, and to engage our employees.

We provide financial support to a range of charitable efforts in our local communities each year. This includes corporate and employee donations. We also encourage colleagues to play their part by giving back and volunteering when possible. Some of the ways in which we support our charity partners include in-office and virtual fundraising events, community engagement days and volunteering with our charity partners.

In 2022, we developed our Group Charitable Efforts Guidelines in order to increase coordination across the Group. These guidelines govern the approach to selecting charitable organisations and donation budgets.
